Did I mention Chris fell through the balcony?

Yep. Chris fell through the balcony. Well a board of the balcony. Thankfully he wasn't hurt.

Mountain Men

The mountain air got to Chris and Jack, and they spent several of their days with Nature. 

One day Chris got up and went fishing here.

And Jack and he went hiking here. Note the very official hiking stick. These men were serious.

They even ate some wild raspberries, and thankfully didn't hallucinate...that we know of.

They hiked up to Williams Lake at 11,040 feet.

Then if that wasn't enough, they went fishing the next day.

What you ask did mom and I do?

Got massages, slept in, hung out and ate.

Hysterical Markers

One of the very cool things we did in Taos was drive to see petroglyphs. You can read more about petroglyphs by clicking here.

The ones we saw were on rocks along a hillside. 

I loved guessing what each of these figures meant. Which ones are your favorite?

The Mountains, The Woods, The Sticks, The Middle of Nowhere

No matter what you call it, we were there.

We were in the land without AT&T. 

But man, was it pretty!

I don't think I had ever been someplace that had such a mixture of dessert and mountains. 

And some parts were almost barren, but others were lush and green.

Can you see the little bee on the left side of the yellow flower?

I loved how the mountains showed all the shadows and light between the sun and the clouds.

But the best part of being in the mountains turned out to be the sunsets.

The aliens may very well be coming down in this one.

Chris got these last two, and I love them! I think they are the perfect balance of light and scenery.

Being without cell phones and the Internet is sure better when you have beautiful things to enjoy.
